I moved to the Bay Area two and a half years ago, I started with being an Intern at Greenbelt Alliance for a year and also I got my GISP Certificate at the same time. I am currently working at the City of Antioch, Public Works as a Part-time GIS- Technician, and have been working here for a year and 4 months so far and I have really loved it. The reason I am looking for new opportunities is that, I want to find a Full time GIS Specialist or GIS Technician in the bay area, preferably located in San Francisco, or East Bay.

Aseem Varty Mogre – July 26, 2018

I am passionate about GIS, and currently enrolled as a part-time graduate student in the online M.S. GIS program at the Johns Hopkins University, to begin this Fall. I have completed my Bachelor’s from San Jose State University (SJSU) with a Geography major (GIS emphasis), and minors in GIS and Urban Studies. Moreover, I have earned a GIS Certificate from SFSU – College of Extended Learning. Along the way, I was elected as a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, and have received the SJSU Dean’s Scholar Award several times. As a result of my coursework and internship, I have 3 years of GIS experience to date. I worked as a GIS Intern at Contra Costa County – IT Department, where I edited maps for the Cities’ municipalities which proved to be quite useful to the first responders. I also did a project with Valley Transportation Authority creating a mapbook for their new bus routes. Currently, I am seeking a full time or part time position as a GIS Intern/Technician/Analyst in the SF Bay Area while pursuing my master’s degree in GIS. My Portfolio link:

Haley Fassett – Feb 12, 2018

Dedicated GIS professional with three years experience looking for GIS/urban/transit/risk management or environmental role where I can build my career in the geography sector. Currently pursuing a Masters degree in GIS at Penn State world campus; graduated from CSUS with a Bachelor’s degree in Geography and a concentration in GIS and Physical Geography. Posses experience from working as a Hydrology Technician at USGS where I performed various tests in the field as well as analyzed, corrected, and visualized geographic data. As a GIS Technician for Apple via Apex, I lead the team working on quality assurance as well as data analysis. I have additional experience with 3D modeling and terrain, watershed, and risk analysis, and various other GIS fields. Thrives off team work and discovering innovative solutions to problems at hand.

Whitney Newcomb – Jan 16, 2018

I reside in Walnut Creek and am a GIS Intern for the same city. I am seeking an entry level GIS Technician or Specialist position within commutable distance. I have a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science with a focus in Geospatial Analysis. I have 2 years’ experience in web mapping with various mapping-technologies and web development. My research and analysis has focused on natural resources, climate change, and city/urban development. I am an excellent and quick learner as is shown by my degree’s Summa Cum Laude status and I have an incredibly strong work ethic.
